Swimming Water Quality

The waters of Cannes' beaches are carefully monitored to ensure a high quality environment

Almost all of Cannes' beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag. In addition to this mark of high quality, the city closely monitors the quality of the bathing water. These checks, carried out during the summer season, aim to give an overall seasonal assessment of the bacteriological quality of the waters of the Cannes coastline and are made public.

During the season from mid-June to the end of September, more than 450 samples are taken at the 18 bathing points (16 on the coast and 2 on the Lérins Islands). Five non-bathing points (ports) are also monitored.

Samples are taken by the CARSO group laboratory. Their schedule is weekly throughout the summer period.
