Grégory Berben

Gregory Berben is a painter/plastic artist born in Cannes in 1974.

It all began in 2008 when he became a member of the prestigious Fondation Negresco set up by Jeanne Augier, who later became his artistic patron.
Since then, there have been a whole series of exhibitions and projects...

Filled with colour and intensity, his work (paintings, collages, original creations using recycled objects and sculptures) has been seen all over the world, and notably in galleries in Hong Kong, New York, Miami, Monaco, Paris, Cannes and Saint-Paul de Vence.

The works are filled with thunder, colourful and dynamic, an ode to vital energy.

He brings old street posters back to life, changing their aim, tearing them, assembling them as original collages on large canvases.

He takes inspiration from the street and newspapers, seizing life as instantaneous flashes of the everyday world in colourful, fun and light-filled paintings… Pictures where the paint is like a song to images and texts, brought together as gigantic puzzles in a joyful, ordered disorder!

Each painting is a truly meticulous work, combining acrylic, collage, deep-etching and marker pens, and is an invitation to dream. The pictures speak for themselves, interacting with our way of seeing and striving to set up links towards greater depths...

Since July 2015, the artist has transferred his studio to the heart of Cannes, in the famous Le Suquet district, in a partnership with the Cannes Town Hall.
