Famous French sailors have engraved their handprint on a bronze plaque on the Port Canto "Walk of Maritime Fame".

The "Walk of Maritime Fame" was inaugurated with the laying of the first plaque of the handprint of yachtsman Marc Pajot, in September 2016.

For the 40th anniversary of the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017, the handprints of yachtsman Armel Le Cléach were unveiled.

Sailor and journalist Fabrice Amedeo put his handprints on the "Walk of Maritime Fame" in June 2018.

In September 2018, professional sailor and skipper Alexia Barrier left her handprints at Port Canto. 

In September 2021, yachtsman Jean Le Cam immortalised his handprints at Port Pierre Canto and joined the "Walk of maritime fame". 

Loïck Peyron joined the "Walk of maritime Fame" at Port Canto in July 2023. He is now the best-known French sailor, and one of the most successful in the world.

The handprints of French yachtsman Philippe Monnet, who has lived in Cannes since he was 16, are now immortalised in a bronze plaque on the forecourt of the Harbour Master's Office.

François Gabart, skipper of the SVR-Lazartigue trimaran, joined Cannes' "Walk of maritime Fame" in October 2024.
